Ecoville- The Farm

Are you a fan of old books, and how their paper felt? Then this workshop might be the perfect weekend plan for you and your older kids! A perfect blend of theory, technique and hands-on learning- you’ll go back home with a piece of art you made by yourself. By the end of the workshop, you’d know:
– History and Significance of Handmade Paper
-Differences between machine-made and handmade paper.
-The science behind fibre bonding and the impact of different raw materials.
-Various applications of handmade paper such as: journals, greeting cards, and
packaging.

The Science: Understand fibre bonding, the history of the craft, and why handmade paper is a powerful, sustainable alternative to industrial production.
The Prep: Learn how to soak and grind recycled paper into a fine pulp.
The Harvest: Collect and heat-press farm-fresh botanicals to preserve their colour and texture.
The Craft: Master the Mould & Deckle process—the traditional method of pulling sheets from a vat of pulp.

At Ecoville, we believe in circular living. This workshop teaches you how to give “waste” a second life while connecting you directly to the land. You’ll leave not just with beautiful paper, but with a new perspective on how we consume and create.
